Get Your Game Ready Before the Snow Melts

If you are anything like me, at this time of year your heart starts beating a little faster with the anticipation of a new golf season upon us! Maybe this season will bring a personal best round, a long overdue win of that $2 Nassau off your playing partners or just the satisfaction of trying your best on every shot. While we can never know for sure what the new season holds for us, I do know you can help your golf game long before the snow melts and you get back out to the range.

One of the best ways to be ready to go when the snow finally does melt is to begin a stretching routine now. As people age, their muscles and joints become stiffer. This can lead to injuries when undertaking activities that require twisting motions (i.e. golf), and with a summer season as short as ours, nobody wants to lose any golf time to injury. Stretching is a low impact, easy activity that can be done by people at all fitness levels. A stretching program with a focus on your lower back, hips, hamstrings, neck, shoulders, forearms and wrists will help to ensure that when you are ready to get back to the range, your body will be also. A routine that covers all of these key areas of the body can be done in as little as 10 minutes a day!

If you need advice putting together a stretching routine, please feel free to call, e-mail (brett@countryclubtour.com) or visit me at the course and I can help you on your way to a injury free season!!

Happy Stretching!!
